John holds a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Cincinnati and has 16 years of experience in design and construction. He spent 10 years with Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky architectural firms as project architect on a wide range of building types including municipal, retail, corporate, medical, office, religious, day care, restaurant, historic preservation, grocery and both single-family and large-scale residential developments. John served as executive director of the MainStrasse Village Association, overseeing all aspects of the marketing, financing, development and historic preservation of this northern Kentucky non-profit association. Mr. Schaefer also serves on the City of Covington Urban Design Review Board. This appointed board of professionals and concerned citizens oversees design and preservation issues within the city’s large stock of historic structures.
